The KC Improv Festival is back!
There are SO MANY REASONS we’re excited about this show.
First of all, belly dancer Kim Carrington and Star Trek novelist Kevin Dilmore will be our storytellers.
We’re also sharing the stage with Susan Messing, the funniest woman in Chicago (you may have seen her at last year’s festival), and TJ Jagodowski, the hilarious passenger in those Sonic commercials. We’ve seen them together on their home turf and the only way to describe what they do is mind-blowing.
And it doesn’t stop there: Add one of KC’s hottest new groups, Not A Great Gorilla, and a fabulous Chicago troupe, Counterproductive Lover.
This may be the funniest show you see all year. Why would you miss it?
We’ll get just one word or phrase. Kim or Kevin will take the stage and launch into something inspired by that suggestion—opinions, stories, life theories—anything goes as long as it’s true. Then Tantrum takes over, twisting and turning their tales into a series of scenes. Then Kevin or Kim will take a turn with the same suggestion, and Tantrum will improvise more scenes.
We’ve asked Kim to wear her belly dance costume, and Kevin to wear something he got at ComicCon. This is just a guess, but we think our storytellers will have pretty different points of view.
Tickets are $20. There’s a bar at the theater. Content will be adult. And the show will almost certainly sell out.
